In 2012 when Singapore started allowing people to redeem miles for the A380 couple’s suite I booked us tickets to Paris just 2 days before departure. It was our 2nd visit to the city of lights, but we enjoyed it so much the first time that we had to go back again. We spent 2 nights at the Park Hyatt there and enjoyed the city in the quieter winter season. In 2013 when BA had a glitch that allowed us to fly to Buenos Aires in first class for 0 miles we dropped Rafi off at my parents and were on a plane within just 2 hours of booking tickets! We only spent a single night in Buenos Aires, much to the shock of the … [Read more...] about Trip Notes Rome: Veni, Vidi, Vici In 48 Hours; United Polaris First Class And Polaris Lounge Review

We all love AMEX for their nonstop year-round AMEX Offers, promos like $10 off $0.01 with Express Checkout, 20% off NYC restaurants, and for SBS of course. But where they really shine are their purchase protections. Here are just a few of my experiences: Purchase protection covers items that are stolen or broken within 90 days of purchase. Officially consumable items are excluded from purchase protection, but having nothing to lose I went online and submitted a claim in the AMEX Claims Center. Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookContinental’s former CEO Larry Kellner, who was sacked for refusing to merge with United, was quoted as saying that Newark-Tel Aviv was their most profitable route. USAirways’ then president Scott Kirby called Philadelphia-Tel Aviv among the most lucrative routes in their network, before American merged with USAirways and suddenly axed the route, citing alleged poor route performance. Mr. Kirby jumped ship and is now the effective CEO of United. Last year United upgauged the redeye flight between Newark and Tel Aviv from a Boeing 777-200 (772) to a 777-300ER (77W). That flight went from 50 business seats and 217 coach seats to 60 business seats and 306 coach seats. United launched their San Francisco to Tel Aviv route on 3/30/16 with 3 weekly flights and the route was so successful that they increased it to daily flights in October 2016. United is upgauging that route from a 787-8 to a 77W from May … [Read more...] about United’s Managing Director For Israel: Stay Tuned For New Tel Aviv Routes And Plane Upgrades!

I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise considering the sheer number of flights that he’s been on. He says he wants to be a pilot when he grows up, but I won’t tell him just yet how improbable that would be as an Orthodox Jew… He can tell you the name of an airline by looking at its tail as well as how valuable their miles are and which plane types they fly. For quite some time he had been begging to fly upstairs on a 747. United announced that they would stop flying regularly scheduled domestic 747 flights last May. I figured I’d take the opportunity to take … [Read more...] about Trip Notes: A Father & Son 747 Trip To San Francisco
