With the colder weather season on its way, many of this month's new releases are just what you need when you're curling up on the couch. All throughout December, Netflix Canada will add movies for you to watch on a cozy night in. I do have one piece of bad news, though. Moana is leaving Netflix Canada on Dec. 20 – so make sure you watch it one more time before then! … [Read more...] about What’s New on Netflix Canada for December 2018
Masters open days
In the airport I picked up some Kahlua on sale at duty-free (kosher in Mexico, but not in the US) and got to chat for a few minutes with a fellow DDF member who recognized me. And then it was back to Miami for Shabbos with my grandparents before heading back to Cleveland, just on time for the coldest February on record since at least 1871, when temperatures started being recorded. Time to start planning the next place our miles will take us 😀 … [Read more...] about Winter Break 2015 Trip Notes Part 2: Cancun And The Riviera Maya
Waimea Canyon is known the the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. Be sure to bring a jacket as it can be cool up here. From here you can view the canyon, the Na Pali coast, the forbidden island of Niihau, and go on countless hikes. A 4WD vehicle definitely comes in handy up here. … [Read more...] about Trip Notes Kauai: Heaven On Earth
-Instead of renting a car and dealing with the traffic and parking costs we took a shuttle from the airport to the Park Hyatt Sydney. I booked the Sydney Airport Connect which now appears to be called AirBus Sydney because it was just $20 round-trip. You get what you pay for. We were the last stop and it took over 2 hours to finally get to our hotel. Once in the hotel I realized that I forgot one of my guidebooks in the shuttle but the company refused to contact the driver to look for the book. On the return trip home they showed up before their scheduled time and left without waiting even for 30 seconds as they pulled away just as got to the door. They refused to provide a refund or to come back and get us. Not a pleasant experience to say the least so avoid them at all costs. … [Read more...] about Round-The-World Trip Notes, Part 4: Sydney, Australia.
Ba Li Ice Cream: Dulce de Leche based Ice Cream is the specialty on this Tucuman Heladeria. Loaded with different goodies inside they’ll be happy to let you sample all of them. The Premium version and the granizada (chocolate pieces) are excellent. The Ice Cream cones themselves though had no flavor-stick with a cup. Cash only. … [Read more...] about Trip Notes: Buenos Aires, Argentina
-That night we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. The category 6 property feels slightly dated, but the main draw in that it’s right on the great beach. It’s kind of mind-boggling that this could be on the same redemption category as some of the other top-tier Hyatt hotels. They discounted the $23 resort fee to $17 as a Hyatt Diamond member, though I still don’t know what exactly that fee is supposed to cover. We received a nice suite, but when I turned on the air conditioning it gave off a strong electrical smell and didn’t work at all. We did get 6,000 points though as compensation for that. The pools are nothing to write home about for a resort property, although perhaps I am spoiled by the Grand Hyatt Kauai or the Hyatt Regency Maui? The property does have a nice Regency Club where they serve a complimentary breakfast. We ate some cereal and drank Tazo Passion Fruit tea out on the club balcony and … [Read more...] about Trip Notes: Our SoCal Quasi-Mileage Run…
