#FakeNews: No Hasidic Jews Are Actually Suing McDonald’s
Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookThe Daily News, Miami Herald, Newsweek, JTA, Fox News, and NBC all write that Morteza Javadi is a Hasidic Jew who is suing McDonald’s over not being hired due to his beard. As a Hasidic Jew who has never trimmed his beard, I wondered what kind of Hasidic Jew would possibly work at McDonald’s? And I’m not talking about the Glatt Kosher McDonald’s in Buenos Aires. Working in a non-kosher McDonald’s is pretty much anathema to a Hasidic Jew. It only took a little bit of searching to find Mort’s YouTube channel for his “Mahi Ministries” (Disclaimer: Missionary videos) and the website for his ministry. He’s clearly a Christian missionary and doesn’t resemble anything close to a Hasidic Jew. But I suppose that wouldn’t make the same headlines? I guess I’m not surprised by the media’s lack of research. If you’ve ever read a news article about a … [Read more...] about #FakeNews: No Hasidic Jews Are Actually Suing McDonald’s

Antarctica Trip Notes Part 1: Buenos Aires+Planning And Positioning For The Adventure Of A Lifetime
Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on Facebook Find dozens of DansDeals trip reports here. Follow my travels and more on Instagram @DansDeals Find Trip Reports and contribute your own trip reports on DDF Find Destinations Threads and helpful travel wikis on DDF Antarctica has always been on my bucket list. I may be a religious Jew, but that doesn’t mean I’m satisfied limiting my travels to the same boring spots every time, just in order to have kosher restaurants. My most memorable trips aren’t to Miami, LA, or Cancun. They’re the ones to Tasmania, Palau, Svalbard, Dubai, Kobe, Lofoten, Florionopolis, Banff, Iguazu Falls, Kwajalein, Guam, and the Whitsundays Islands. But I also don’t care to live off of Tuna and Peanut Butter. I’ve traveled to those places with double sealed gourmet kosher meals that I have warmed up in hotels, vacation homes, etc. Sure, I have incurable wanderlust vice. But I also love doing mitzvos (good deeds) and … [Read more...] about Antarctica Trip Notes Part 1: Buenos Aires+Planning And Positioning For The Adventure Of A Lifetime
Trip Notes: Buenos Aires, Argentina
A few weeks ago I asked for your tips and got lots of them, so first of all thanks for your help! I incorporated many suggestions from there and the Argentina Master Thread on DDF for trip planning. -My wife and I and our 10 month old son have just arrived home on Wednesday afternoon from a week-long trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina. A city with lots to see, incredible Ice Cream and Dulce de Leche baked goods, and home to one of the best kosher restaurants I’ve ever been to. Here are some of my trip notes:Flight: -I used 125,000 AA miles for my wife’s First Class ticket from Cleveland to Buenos Aires. -For myself I used 4,500 BA miles to go from Cleveland to New York in coach, 75,000 BA miles for JFK to Buenos Aires in first, 75,000 BA miles for Buenos Aires to Miami in first, and 7,500 BA miles for Miami to Cleveland in coach, all on the same flights as my wife. -To book Rafi as a lap child when using AA miles would mean having to pay 10% of the regular $10,000 … [Read more...] about Trip Notes: Buenos Aires, Argentina
