You Can Currently Redeem United Or Star Alliance Miles For Singapore Suites On Select Routes

Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookGenerally speaking, you need to use Singapore miles to book business or first class awards on Singapore’s premium planes. When Singapore first launched suites you couldn’t use saver miles for them, but when they started releasing suites for saver awards in December 2012 I redeemed Singapore miles and hopped on a plane with Mimi to fly to Paris on Singapore’s JFK to Frankfurt A380 flight: The 2nd generation of Singapore’s suites look even more amazing: Currently you can use United miles or miles from other Star Alliance airlines to fly between Singapore and Auckland, New Zealand on the A380 Singapore suites. The cost with United miles is just 65K miles each way.  You would need 80K Singapore miles to book the same flight. There is currently availability from Singapore to Auckland in Singapore suites on: March 7, 20 There is currently availability from Auckland to Singapore in Singapore suites on: … [Read more...] about You Can Currently Redeem United Or Star Alliance Miles For Singapore Suites On Select Routes

Singapore Airlines Killing Close-In Waitlisting For Award Travel

Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookBack in 2012 I waitlisted Mimi and me for Singapore Suites at the saver award level when it first became available for miles. The waitlist cleared and we were able to redeem tickets in a couples suite for just 57K Singapore miles each. It was truly incredible to have that kind of space on a plane and Singapore service is the best in the business. Our suite from 2012: The 2nd generation of Singapore’s suites look even more amazing: Many others have been able to book saver award suites (On DDF we call these SQuites as a play on Singapore’s SQ airline code) via the waitlist. After booking a waitlist award online you can also try emailing and calling Singapore to have a waitlist request manually reviewed. Typically Singapore opens up space close in to a flight when they see that they won’t otherwise sell the seats for cash. In this post you can see which bank programs can transfer miles to Singapore and which … [Read more...] about Singapore Airlines Killing Close-In Waitlisting For Award Travel

Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookSingapore Airlines devalued their award chart for travel on Singapore back in March. They didn’t devalue their award chart for travel on Star Alliance airlines, which left open lots of loopholes to save miles. For example a Singapore suites flight to Tel Aviv via Europe costs fewer miles than a suites flight to Europe! Those loopholes will be closed as they will devalue their Star Alliance award chart on December 7th. Current Singapore Star Alliance Award Chart New Singapore Star Alliance Award Chart (Effective 12/7) Singapore Airlines Non-partner Award Chart In the good news department, starting on December 7 you’ll finally be able to book partner award travel online.
