Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookGenerally speaking, you need to use Singapore miles to book business or first class awards on Singapore’s premium planes. When Singapore first launched suites you couldn’t use saver miles for them, but when they started releasing suites for saver awards in December 2012 I redeemed Singapore miles and hopped on a plane with Mimi to fly to Paris on Singapore’s JFK to Frankfurt A380 flight: The 2nd generation of Singapore’s suites look even more amazing: Currently you can use United miles or miles from other Star Alliance airlines to fly between Singapore and Auckland, New Zealand on the A380 Singapore suites. The cost with United miles is just 65K miles each way. You would need 80K Singapore miles to book the same flight. There is currently availability from Singapore to Auckland in Singapore suites on: March 7, 20 There is currently availability from Auckland to Singapore in Singapore suites on: … [Read more...] about You Can Currently Redeem United Or Star Alliance Miles For Singapore Suites On Select Routes

Update, 10/5: Today is the final day to book a free one-way or stopover award with United miles. Originally posted on 8/5: Effective 10/6 you will no longer be able to book stopovers on United awards as has been allowed in the past. Most insultingly, the email they sent out says that the changes are for “More flexible award booking and streamlined fees” and that “Starting in the fall, we are enhancing the way you book MileagePlus award travel on united.com” Nothing good has ever come out of an airline enhancement. United writes that “Many members found the stopover policy to be confusing. Our goal is to keep the benefit while making the process of booking your multi-city trip easier, so we are introducing the Excursionist Perk, which is a free one-way award within select multi-city itineraries.” I have no … [Read more...] about United *Enhancing* Award Booking Fees And Rules; 14 Examples Of United Stopover Awards You’ll No Longer Be Able To Book In 2 Months

Update: A commenter says he was told by an agent that they will no longer do this process. Luckily I can confirm that isn’t true as can several DDF’ers. I recently helped a couple of family members setup a Plan B award to Israel. They were able to get saver awards on United thanks to having expanded saver class award availability as they had a Chase United Explorer card. We held the 85K coach saver award online and used the callback line to setup the 140K business saver award with all segments waitlisted for business class. Their return trip from Tel Aviv cleared into BusinessFirst automatically. They were nervous about their outbound trip to Tel Aviv as the domestic portion of the flight cleared into first class in advance while the Newark-Tel Aviv segment was still in coach. United.com was showing that BusinessFirst was completely full with several passengers standing by. Luckily United.com is explicit that if the domestic first class portion clears but the … [Read more...] about United Plan B: Pretty Much The Most Awesome, Underutilized, And Underappreciated Thing Ever.
