However when they delivered our amenity (a few oranges) we asked for more water and the employee proceeded to open our fridge and exclaim that we already had water. When we asked for a late checkout we were told to check back later when a supervisor would be around. When I did come back the employee I was referred to (a supervisor?) started telling me how they “already gave us a triple … [Read more...] about Trip Notes: Buenos Aires, Argentina

We got to the Park Hyatt and had them freeze the suitcases of frozen food. Our room in the Posades Tower section of the hotel was not ready and the offered to move us to a room in the Palace section of the hotel for $100/night. I asked for a manager as I was surprised that I didn’t receive a suite or at least a standard Palace section room as a Globalist member. In the end they moved us to the Palace room for free. The Posades Tower section of the hotel is more modern, while the Palace section has more of the original character. More importantly for us though given that we would be in the hotel for Shabbos, we moved from a 7th floor Tower room to a 3rd floor Palace room. … [Read more...] about Antarctica Trip Notes Part 1: Buenos Aires+Planning And Positioning For The Adventure Of A Lifetime

Getting a taxi from Flour is nearly impossible and there were no nearby Ubers, so we started walking towards the hotel and hoped to flag down a taxi. Unfortunately every one was full and so we stopped about halfway to the hotel as we were getting dangerously late to call an Uber. … [Read more...] about Trip Notes Rome: Veni, Vidi, Vici In 48 Hours; United Polaris First Class And Polaris Lounge Review
-DO book a lap child at the time of booking for international travel. BA is very generous in only charging 10% of the Avios instead of 10% of the full fare ticket. with Rafi to Buenos Aires in first class in 2012, American wanted $1,000 just to bring him on as a lap child. BA charged just 15,000 Avios. Just be sure to book the domestic portion separate from the international portion so that you don’t pay 10% for the domestic legs where the child shouldn’t need to pay anything. … [Read more...] about 22 Things To Keep In Mind When Using Avios
