This is a long trip report but my philosophy on trip reports is to write everything on a destination in one shot as opposed to dragging it out into dozens of annoying installments. I’m always open to suggestions and criticisms though, so sound off in the comments. Posts like these take days to write so your feedback is appreciated! It’s not much of a secret that I have a bit of a love affair with the Hawaiian islands. $87 was the cost for my hotel and airfare on my first trip in 2006. I’ve been back 5 times since. In this post I’ve included activities and pictures from 5 trips to Kauai. Why go back to the same place so many times? I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many far-flung corners of the world but there’s no place where I’m in as good of a place of mind as Hawaii. The air is … [Read more...] about Trip Notes Kauai: Heaven On Earth

Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookWhen things go wrong with the airlines I’ve turned to the DoT to complain and have had good results. They have a convenient online complaint form here if you ever need it. A couple of months ago, after delaying our outbound flight and forcing us to fly to NYC, American cancelled our return flight from NYC to Cleveland. I called Iberia for a refund of my Avios at least 2 dozen times, probably more. Sometimes they promised a refund would be coming, sometimes they said we took the flight, most of the time they said I reached the wrong department and that I had to hang up and try again as they didn’t have the ability to transfer me to the right department. I Tweeted Iberia and they wrote back that I needed to email them. I emailed Iberia and they wrote back that I needed to call them. I Tweeted American and they said to go pound sand. So I filed a DoT complaint against Iberia and American and waited. … [Read more...] about Thanks To The DoT, I Finally Got My Iberia Avios Back! If you’re susceptible to that behavior, then don’t play the game. Cut up all your cards, pay for things in cash, and be happy not being in debt. Any gain from the points system will be obliterated by interest payments. Otherwise though you’re leaving … [Read more...] about Building Credit And Credit Card FAQs: Your Questions Answered

My carefully crafted Dubai itinerary would have to be reworked. Upon landing I put on my Indians cap. Immigration and customs didn’t ask us a single question. They couldn’t care less about the Israeli immigration sticker on my passport either. I will admit that walking through baggage claim and seeing where other flights were coming from is a bit of a surreal experience: But the Dubai airport itself is truly stunning. It’s a shame that most US airports make such a poor first impression on visitors: Most of the advice on the … [Read more...] about Maldives Trip Notes Part 2: Dubai and Abu Dhabi
If you keep up to date with what's going on in the beauty world, you've either tried or at least heard good things about Glossier. But if you need a refresher, they're basically a company with a pretty simple motto: skin first, makeup second. Their thinking is that if you start out with a great canvas (aka glowy and dewy skin), you can really show off your face and then add makeup as your finishing touches – not a fix for problem spots. Click here to shop Glossier Now, here comes the tricky part. Glossier isn't a brand you'll just find laying around at any old department store counter. In fact, you won't find them at Sephora, either. So if you're looking to stock up on Boy Brow or Wowder (or you just want to learn a little more about them), we put together a quick guide with everything you need to know about shopping for Glossier in Canada. Where to buy Glossier products I'll cut right to the chase: the list of where to buy Glossier is pretty limited. In fact, they're … [Read more...] about The Complete Guide to Buying Glossier in Canada
