I may be a religious Jew, but that doesn’t mean I’m satisfied limiting my travels to the same boring spots every time, just in order to have kosher restaurants. My most memorable trips aren’t to Miami, LA, or Cancun. They’re the ones to Tasmania, Palau, Svalbard, Dubai, Kobe, Lofoten, Florionopolis, Banff, Iguazu Falls, Kwajalein, Guam, and the Whitsundays Islands. But I also don’t care to live off of Tuna and Peanut Butter. I’ve traveled to those places with double sealed gourmet kosher meals that I have warmed up in hotels, vacation homes, etc. Sure, I have incurable wanderlust vice. But I also love doing mitzvos (good deeds) and … [Read more...] about Antarctica Trip Notes Part 1: Buenos Aires+Planning And Positioning For The Adventure Of A Lifetime

Longyearbyen, located in the Svalbard Islands, is the closest city in the world to the North Pole: The DansDeals Forums, much like DansDeals.com, started as a fluke. Before I started blogging I used to post deals to a forum for bochurim (Hebrew for guys or bachelors). I started blogging about miles and bargains in 2004, when I spent a year teaching in Brazil as part of the Chabad bochur shlichus program, on the decidedly non-user friendly URL of ctownbochur.blogspot.com. Eventually it became ctownbochur.com and then ctowndeals.com. In 2006, I tried … [Read more...] about DDF Adventure Photo DO Trip Notes Part 1: Heading For Svalbard And The Far North
Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookAmazon changed online shopping for good 14 years ago when they launched free 2nd day shipping with Amazon Prime. Amazon announced that they will spend at least $800MM this quarter upgrading the default free Prime shipping speed to one-day shipping. While some items currently have one-day shipping and others offer it on $35+ orders, Amazon is expanding that to cover most products, in most locations nationwide, and with no minimum order over the next couple of months. This comes on the heels of Amazon allowing Prime members to order add-on items without needing a minimum order. That’s a lot of meaningful new value being added for Prime members. Hopefully Amazon is able to hold the $119/year price point for Prime. Don’t have Prime?
