AAmerican’s Horrendous New Irregular Operations Policy And AAnother Trip In Vain To NYC For My Grandfather’s 90th

Never Miss Another Deal - Follow DansDeals on FacebookIn September 2015 Delta and American ended their interline agreement. Delta wanted more money to accommodate American’s passengers as Delta’s operational performance is much better than American’s, but American refused to pay. That wound up haunting me personally. American refused to rebook our failed trip to London on Delta in November 2015 due to their lack of an interline agreement. Instead they had us spend the night with our kids in an airport. It took 8 months just to get a refund from that fiasco. Delta felt that they didn’t need to rely on American’s flights, but they were wrong. After a series of IT and power failures they relented and began interlining with American again. @delta We are unable to honor your request for $50,000,000 in reimbursement compensation for the ATL power outage, but we have deposited 4,000 bonus miles into your Delta SkyMiles® account as a goodwill … [Read more...] about AAmerican’s Horrendous New Irregular Operations Policy And AAnother Trip In Vain To NYC For My Grandfather’s 90th

Building Credit And Credit Card FAQs: Your Questions Answered

This is an article I wrote a few months ago, but people keep asking the same questions, so here it is again: -Find more posts like this by clicking on the “Credit Card Posts” tab and find credit card offers in the “Credit Cards” tab above of the DansDeals banner at the top of this site. American Express is a DansDeals.com advertiser. Originally posted on 10/08: Do your eyes glaze over every time I make another post about miles and credit cards? If it’s the latter, you have good instincts. The credit card points system is partially subsidized by the millions of Americans who fall into the trap of debt, buying things they can’t afford, and paying huge amounts of interest to the banks. If you’re susceptible to that behavior, then don’t play the game. Cut up all your cards, pay for things in cash, and be happy not being in debt. Any gain from the points system will be obliterated by interest payments. Otherwise though you’re leaving … [Read more...] about Building Credit And Credit Card FAQs: Your Questions Answered

4 Days Left Until Massive Hilton Devaluation

I’ve never been a fan of Hilton points.  The currency is not nearly as lucrative as other hotel brands like Hyatt (which can also be accumulated via the Chase Ultimate Rewards program) or Starwood.  With 22,000 Chase or Hyatt points you can stay in any Hyatt worldwide, even in Park Hyatts in places like Paris, Sydney, and the Maldives with $1,000+ nightly room rates.  With Starpoints you can transfer points into dozens of airline mileage currencies at very favorable ratios in addition to some great hotel bargains. However there have been some good values in the Hilton program.  For example the Hilton Bora Bora Nui is 50,000 points per night and Hilton elites and credit card holders save 15% on 4 night stays, 20% on 5 night stays, and 25% on 6+ night stays, so it can be had for as little as 37,500 points per night. Now that will only get you a base room, expect to pay an extra $100-$250 per night to confirm an overwater bungalow based on how good of a … [Read more...] about 4 Days Left Until Massive Hilton Devaluation
